The year 1999 holds a significant place in India’s history due to the Kargil War, fought between India and Pakistan in the Kargil district. Many brave soldiers sacrificed their lives during this conflict, and on July 26, India emerged victorious. Since then, July 26 has been observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor those courageous warriors. In observance of this occasion, Delhi Public School MRPL Mangalore celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas with great reverence. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Bikram, Deputy Commander of CISF. The program began with a prayer led by scout students, followed by Head Girl Ms.Nidhishree welcoming the gathering. Dignitaries then lit a lamp to pay homage to veteran soldier Captain Pranjal. The members of Yamuna House presented a cultural program to remember the sacrifices of the Kargil warriors. The chief guest spoke about the significance of sacrifice and patriotism, sharing his thoughts through poetry. The event was attended by Sri Prashanth Shankar Poduval, Pro Vice Chairman, along with trustees Sri Surendra Nayak, Sri Manjunath Shastry, Smt. Lalitha Pandey, and Vice Principal Smt. Kripa Sanjeev, as well as teachers and students. Ms. Shagun and Master Amogh Pandey hosted the program, Master Ayman proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration served as a poignant reminder of the valor and sacrifice of those who fought for the nation.
